This is something my husband and I have every so often. We use Hormel's, and have a collection of the little glasses. The reason we limit having it is because of the salt content, which is very high... not to mention the gravy added - white flour -- we don't use soup... cheese, either. My DH's dad called the dish s*** on a shingle. Appetizing, huh?

You can use the BUDDIG meat in packages (one package per person) and then in a fry pan carmelize onions in butter then add a cup of milk and the beef that you've shredded.
Once the mixture is hot sprinkle in small amounts of WONDRA flour until the mixture begins to thicken. Season well and add more milk to the consistency of the gravy wanted, being thick or thinner. Then spoon the finished mixture over either biscuits of toast.

Not much salt this way if you add none. I use onion powder and garlic powder, lightly, and a sprinkle of parsley and pepper.

Its called Chipped Beef or Shi* on a Shingle.

Bringing this back up because it is also a great Christmas morning meal. It's fast, hot and so delicious. Kids love it and still won't spoil dinner later on in the day. Enjoy!!

chatty, we have chipped beef every Easter for brunch. It's always my BIL's contribution. I beleive he adds sherry to his. Does that make sense? My kids love it! He also serves it on English muffins.
