Cafee en Forchetta

Want to be a hero? Serve something brand new and exciting on the holiday or as a snack or breakfast. Easy and so delicious!

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups reduced-fat (2%) milk
1 cup cholesterol-free egg substitute
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons no sugar added mocha-flavored instant coffee.
Grated chocolate, or six chocolate covered coffee beans.
Ready Whip (optional)

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 325*F.
Combine all ingredients in medium bowl except grated chocolate.
Whisk until instant coffee has dissolved and mixture is foamy.
Pour into six individual custard cups.
Place cups in 13x9-inch baking pan.
Fill with hot water halfway up sides of cups.
Bake 55 to 60 minutes or until knife inserted between center and edge comes out clean.
Serve warm or at room temperature.
Garnish with grated chocolate or chocolate covered coffee beans, and a squirt of real whipped cream.

Then just watch the smiles and hear the yums!!!

Have you tried this with Splenda instead of sugar?

I made soem chex mix today. Instead of one of the cereals, I use sesame sticks since my family loves those things. This is the first thing I've made for the holidays.

What has everyone else been making? I know jawjaw made some spicy pretzels.

I'm trying a new almond cookie this year. If it turns out, I'll share the recipe. I'm not baking until the weekend because I want them to be fresh when everyone's home.

Dotsie I always use STEVIA in place of sugar. Splenda almost killed me, heart palptations and all. I stay away from it entirely now. STEVIA works great and tastes great too. No one knows I don't ever use sugar in my baking, or foods.

Chatty, I've probably asked you this before, but can't remember....does STEVIA have an aftertaste? Or maybe you don't notice it anymore? I can't get used to the terrible aftertaste of these artifical sweeteners. But hubby doesn't notice the aftertaste at all.

None what-so-ever and I do taste an aftertaste in some products. I like Stevia but if you don't have diabetes just use regular sugar. I like the unprocessed larger sugar crystals. They have a much better taste even than regular sugar. I have Type II diabetes so have to watch my sugar intake, I eat regular sugar on occasion but am mindful of it.

I would NEVER use regular sugar. Okay, that's a lie. If I'm out of STEVIA, I would...maybe. I love Stevia and get it from Purtain's Pride off the Internet. I wouldn't use anything else and don't think it has an aftertaste...but then again, don't go on what I say. You can get a sample of it (I bet) at any health food store. Maybe you could try it and see?

I would send you some, but can't you just see the packets getting torn open during the mailing....the post office thinking it is something WHITE....like you know, lethal....and arresting me? I think not.

Chatty, you send it. Whattttt?

It's okay, don't go getting yourself arrested and having to spend Christmas in a jail cell...then again, free Christmas dinner?

No, step away from the STEVIA. I'll go find a sample somewhere and try it. Thanks for the info!

Oh Chatty, that's so sweet and generous of you, but honestly, I can find it here. We have a health food store right at the mall where we do most of our errands...I'll check in there when we go over on Saturday (big snowstorm tomorrow). We need to get some other stuff there for our allergy-prone Christmas guests.
