I'm putting this here so it won't cover anyone else's post. I just learned that a dear, dear, friend of mine was killed while driving his motorcycle. I don't have the details, just his death. Tonight I cry tears of shear grief for the passing of this friend. He was also married to one of my sisters at one time. He has remained a brother-in-law to me in spirit and a close friend as well. I am mourning loudly the death of Larry Almon. May God hold you close Larry. I love you like a brother and will miss you so much!

Oh JJ, how horrible a shock for you. I so wish I could be there to hold you close. I do hold you close in my heart and my spirit grieves with you this loss of someone so dear who clearly means so very much to you.

Thank you all kindly ladies. I really do appreciate it and feel the love. I wanted to somehow validate his life out loud, to shout his name and hope that God heard me so He would make sure and hold my friend close to him. I spent my grief all night and today I will honor him with thoughts of all of the memories we have over the years. Larry had a wonderful, absolutely WONDERFUL sense of humor and we naturally got along famously. He is the only person in the world that I LET call me George...he started that the first day my sister introduced him to me, and never stopped. After that, all my family started calling me George.

One time years and years ago, a bunch of us were in a club with Larry and a guy came over to ask me to dance. Not being sure if I was "fair game" or not and Larry was the only guy sitting at our table, so he ask Larry if he cared if he asked me to dance. Larry, in his wicked sense of humor said, "Who? Are you talking about George here?" The guy looked from Larry to me and with a puzzled look on his face said, "Ah yes....George?" Larry never missed a beat and said, "Oh yeah, George. See, she calls herself Georgia NOW but she use to be a guy. You'd never know it, would you? We think they did a great job with the sex change. Dont you?"

The guy just walked away and never looked back. But I didn't get asked to dance all night. I have never laughed so hard in my life. I could have killed him. He was such a nut.

Georgia, I am so sorry for your loss. Please take time to remember and share more Larry stories with your sisters today. It's important to reminisce, to laugh and cry. It's also important to share those memories with his family in the upcoming weeks. I'm sure they'd love to hear them. Thinking of and prpaying for you and all those who enjoyed Larry's presence.
