We always forget the Sunday after Thanksgiving..that Santa comes to town! [Smile]

Every year we always go "There must be a really bad accident".....and then Santa comes thru on the firetruck........ [Smile]

One year they pelted us with popcorn balls! [Smile]
And another.....there was almost a Santa at each corner! [Smile]

Yep--once a dork--always a dork!!! [Smile]

Kay B, do you mean to say that Santa himself pelted you with a popcorn ball when you went out to see his grand arrival?

Were they wrapped so you could at least eat them?

I have to share this Santa story. Our neighbor decided to play Santa on Christmas Eve and showed up at our house, riding his horse who was equipped with a red light on his head, attached to a battery pack. We lived in a neighborhood with about five acres between houses and very little lighting.

My girls were still young and believed in Santa but my son was old enough to know this wasn't really Santa but silently watched at "Mickey" handed candy to my girls. My son looked out the window and said, "Oh Santa, Rudolph has flown the coop, if you know what I mean."

Santa/Mickey jumped up and sure enough, Rudolph was headed back home. He'd had enough of the nonsense. Santa runs outside and can't call the horse by it's name or the girls would know who he was and of course, the horse wasn't responding to Rudolph.

He turns to me and says, "Uh, could you call Mrs Claus and tell her Rudolph is headed home?"

The scene will never leave my memory. A red light bobbing down the road and a man dressed in a red suit chasing it!

Dianne
,
That made me laugh out loud already this morning. And I don't wake up til noon. (Actually I get up, but I don't wake up.)

That's hilarious. You should write a story about it.

Kay I had forgotten about the Santa parades we use to have. Thanks for reminding me. They were fun, weren't they? Dianne, I agree, what a funny story. You really should write about it.
