Christmas is chasing me

Its not even Halloween
And already Christmas is on the prowl
Last week I was malingering in Walmart
when I heard its scary growl

I was just sampling the Halloween candy
as blissful as could be
when I was mugged
by an electric Christmas tree

It waved its plastic limbs
and shook its lit up branches
the star on the top
did some kind of limbo dances

and while I was distracted by the
fake Christmas cheer,
I got mugged
by plastic reindeer

It was animated
And its nose lit up red
It played Rudolph the red nosed reindeer
and it had a plastic halo on its head

I dodged the deer,
but I ran into an angel
all dressed in white
it waved its spooky hands
and held a fake candle light

totally unnerved I escaped
with my candy intact
and trudged on home
for a million calorie
chocolate attack

Now here on the couch to rest
I’m thinking that Christmas
is becoming a pest
and boy oh boy
is it ever stalking sooner each year
before one Christmas is over
the next one is already here

So I’m indulging in the chocolate
and drinking up the booze
cause next Christmas is already chasing me
and I can see this is a race I’m gonna’ lose

Cute poem, smilinize!

My neighbors never took down their lights from last year. At this point I'm not sure if they're late or early.

Somehow I can totally relate to escaping with the candy intact. While I was reading about the Christmas craziness, I was wondering ...what about that candy? [Big Grin]

I think I will just put the Halloween candy in the Christmas stockings and be done with it! [Eek!]

Very good idea Lynn, but around here, candy never lasts long enough to get to the Christmas stocking.

We bought three bags of great chocolate candy for Halloween this year and even with very few trick or treaters, had to give the last few kids money because we had eaten all the candy.
