Has anyone else tried this game? It just started in my newspaper last week.

The puzzles are rated 1-5 stars, 1 being easiest and on Monday (like crosswords, which get harder as the week goes on.)

I tried Monday, and blew it. Tuesday, the same. Flubbed Wednesday as well (and once you make a mistake, it's almost impossible to backtrack.) But I got the 4-star Thursday puzzle!

I'm hooked. [Wink]

Never heard of it Mere. Where do you find it?

I actually wrote a small article at Associated content on Sudoku. I haven't found it in the newspapers here yet but there are places online that you can sign up for that have it. Most you have to pay for though. If you google sudoku you will find them and it explains the rules of the game there as well.
It really looks interesting to me and I hope we get it in our papers here soon. It is all the rage in England right now.

My newspaper is called the Orange County Register, and you might be able to find this puzzle online at their website. I haven't checked though.

Now that I'm a one-whole-week-plus expert and kinda got the hang of it, this week's 1-&-2-star puzzles seemed a little easy, so I'll probably skip them in the future and just fritter my time away on the more difficult ones!

TVC15, are you playing at those online sites now?

Meredith, after you posted this I bought the book, Sudoku for Dummies. Now, I have to get my brain in gear and figure it out.

I'm still figuring out some of the little tricks. The first puzzle I solved correctly took about 2 hours! [Eek!] I'm getting quicker, though.

I think any puzzles or games that keep our brains active are a good thing. I currently do Sudoku, crosswords, scrabble and JT's blocks.

Hmm, seems like everything I do is in little squares these days.

I do SUDOKU every morning with my first cup of tea. In my paper it gets harder as the week progresses also. I love Sunday....the hardest puzzle and the most time to do it!
