Dotsie

Thanks for asking....I love the rite of passage I created.

Gonna Tell you a story.....

When I was born I was a first born. My Mother has an illness at age 8 years. She and my Father married "hurridly" and as he was still on War work they had two rooms at Granparents home. When i was 11 months old the allowance from the Polish Army stopped. In fact he had just left us.Mother went back to work and from that day it was as if she were single again.grandmother meantime got on with being my special Gran.Nanny.After five years Mother remarried and I stayed put. So in fact she was like a much bigger sister.Despite being happy as a child I must have carried a sadness and when Mother died in her early forties having had a new family by that time even the obituary left me out..By the nature of things my Grandparents death came shortly after that and I still miss them and that older generation who look out for us.
BUT
becoming sixty that magic number has been a rite of passage. For a time at the spa (Sorry to repeat my ritual there) I was very aware that for a time at least on the day I was born I did matter to my Mother. That being in the same city....was significant.her illness which I believe to be myningitis left her brain comparmentalised. She meant no evil it was simply the way she was.
So having a boomer site is special to me.It gives links..and I like links. But I reason by this age I have it sussed and I do want to lve my life to the full.
So Dotsie my dear Thanks for asking how I am..
I am just fine.
Love to all.

Mountain, I am glad you have come to peace with your past. How odd that we should be posting about this the day after Mother's Day. Were you able to attend your mom's funeral?

Of course you mattered to your mom.And praise God you mattered to your grandmother. Your mom may very well have thought it best for you to stay settled with your grandparents. SHe was looking out for you.

Two of my children are adopted and I know with all my heart that they mattered to their birth mothers, or else they wouldn't have placed them for adoption.
