Has anyone heard of Book Crossing? It's where you share books and watch them cross the state, country, world. It's acually fun. You read a book, then post it on the site where you will leave it. You put a not in it tell whoever finds it to go to the site and list it there. Other people leave books places too, so you can hunt them down. or you can have people send them to you. all free. hope someone else likes it. Sandy [Wink]

Sandy,
I hate to sound like the village idiot, but can you tell me just exactly HOW bookcrossing works?

I have read parts of their site, but it doesn't make sense to me. Not completely anyway.

Thanks in advance!

JawJaw, what you do it first register. then if you have a book you are ready to part with, you put a note in the book that has your registration number and tells the person who finds the book to register that they found it and where. you can watch books travel literally around the world. I left on at the post office yesterday. it was my first one. it was gone this morning. so someone found it. they may not register it. it may sit at their house for a long time. then it may get sold at a garage sale or sent to a second hand store. someone else might pick it up and register it two years from now. It's not a site i will always watch. but it will be fun to see where my books have traveled--and wish the i could be there with them. [Smile] But mostly,it's just getting books passed around free. there is a place on the site where there are posts of books sent into the wild and where they are. you can look and keep tabs to see if any are in your area. it just sounded like a lot of fun, and i get to put books out there for other women. [Wink] anyway you look at it, all it can do is good. what do you think? Sandy

Great! Thanks Sandy...I'm off to join. I think it is a great idea and already I have found there are loads of places in my area that have books out there. Happy hunting!

Sandy,
Let us know what happens with your book when you read about it. I know there are a few in this area so will be hunting for them.
I am anxious to hear about all the others we find too. Will be hunting as soon as I can. I found out there are quite a few in this area and some have been there for a while unless they've been picked up.
Thanks,
Maggie
