I'm not fully sure how this forum works, for example how to get replies mailed to you and other things, but I will try to get information on all of my question. I've been doing this perimenopause thing for a long time now. I has been a nightmare of symptoms. I've no mother to talk to about this nor do I have a sister so I needed to find some friends to talk to and trade info with! I'm hoping this is a good place for that. Thanks for reading! We're a wonderful neighborhood of caring women (and some of us are a little odd too, but that's what makes it fun!). I'm 49 and doing the peri thing as well. My mom, aunt and grandma all had hysterectomies, so I really don't know what is normal for me. And the more I check into it, the more it seems there is no normal. My answer has been to take a very low dose of the birth control pill. Like you, I too, have no mother nor sister to talk about these "changing" years. I am just trying to let my body lead the way & go with the flow, which is not always easy. I do lots of research on the subject. Actually,researching perimenopause/menopause is how found this wonderful place to land. Lots of informative stuff here with the boomer sisters!

It was great to find so many people open and able to talk about it! Being a dancer, I was very concerned and am concerned about what happens to my body! The weeks I take the blanks, I am definitely more moody, not as confident, wake with night sweats at the end of the week, and just don't feel myself. I can't imagine what I would feel like if I wasn't on the pill.
