What do ya'll think of thse pics? http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20640615/site/newsweek/I've been coloring my hair for about 10 years, somewhere back in my 40's I got this weird streak of grey right in the front of my temple and lots of stray greys elsewhere. To me it seemed to wash all of the colors out of my palette and without the brown hair I just looked so blah. So I've been a bottle brunette ever since. I'm so used to seeing myself with brown hair-- I have brown hair-- that I don't know if I'd recognize myself with out it. What do you think of these pics and the accompaning article? Now I don't know what to think.

I think the photo on far right, where she is most grey, that woman looks sexy and good. Grey hair suits her face angularity,etc. She looks "edgier" and sharper in grey hair.
I have not gone grey at all yet. Just the odd hair strand. I am 48 and I have 4 sisters from 38-47. None of them have gone grey either. Hence none of them have dyed their natural hair colour --which is black.
I really would like to stay away from hair colouring..already spend 5 min. curling my hair with curling iron and washing hair everyday is enough effort for me.

I like the middle one myself. I think she looks prettier. Gray on her makes her look like she's given up and doesn't care anymore how she looks.
The dark brown looks harsh and like she is trying too hard to hide something.
I really don't like any of the photos very much because she cut her hair in the last two and its like when these surveys or tests give you 4 options and you have to chose one...I just don't take the test because that lady has soooo many more options than the three she gave in her example.

My goodness! I woke with a streak of grey at 22! My natural color is DARK brown or black. I have blackish hair with some grey and light skin, the French genes did that, my siblings have the Italian coloring. The day I awoke with a streak I had just had my son. I was shocked, I guess! I was working as a dancer at the time and doing videos. That grey was going, and my agent told me so! It did look a bit funny and I didn't like it all that much but it did serve to cure me of fear of grey!
My hair dresser comes to my home because of my pain and does my hair tint for me. We tint it to my natural color, pretty much, but it is a bit glossier with color on it. I tried to dye a piece of my hair blond and it fell out! I could never be blond all of my life, and with all grey, I don't know if it will be possible.
I have fine hair and a LOT of it. A bit wavy. I was a hair model internationally for 15 years and on my site you can see many different hair shapes for fashion shoots.
Other than that, I have no hair ego. So long as it is in good shape and a decent color, I let my hairdresser take over. I stopped the modeling when I had my accident with my neck.

Well, it's nice to meet another woman who can't/won't be blonde in her life.  I'm actually tired of meeting women in my age bracket and older who suddenly go blonde or near blonde..when their natural hair colour is dark brown and black.
To take black hair or dark brown hair and go quite blonde is in my humble opinion, a waste of effort, chemically harmful in the long run to hair (and who knows about cancer-causing agents of strong hair colouring).
I'm intrigued when I stroll in the hair products store aisles and to see these incredible range of hair products to deal with frizzy hair, damaged hair, over-coloured hair.
I've never had to use those hair products and don't need to after consulting my regular hairdresser. This is what it means ..to have naturally healthy hair and be hair colour treatment free.  I don't waste money and time on ..yet more chemicals/products to undo the damage caused by hair colouring/perms.

I think you said it, ..when I see 100% asian-blood women with dyed blonde hair, it does make them look abit trashier ...to me. To me, it's akin to breast implants when already the original breasts were fine.
Unnatural.
For non-white women, it's important they buy into their own natural racial/ethnic beauty and enhance what their natural features are. Yes, it's abit odd to see black/dark brown natural eyebrows with...blonde hair.
Sigh I sound like some sort of 1970's feminist...I don't want to sell out by replacing natural beauty with unnatural beauty.
Last Saturday I dropped by a brand-new Japanese supermarket. It was novelty to me...products direct from Japan, cosmetics, etc. are packaged more cutesy. I was bewildered to ...see this eye makeup..originally marketed to asian women..who want double eyelids.
For those who don't know here, there are the rare Asian women who want to have double-lidded eyes like Caucasian women...more to put on eye shadow colour. Who knows. Extreme cases ..is surgery. But again that is rare.
Now understand why it's important I accept my beauty, black hair and all....not become another Michael Jackson..who radically altered his racially-black features.
