I'm so glad Dr. Phil did a show on this disease as I had a friend in AZ who had it. Basically, while pregnant, your body turns against itself. My friend, Cindy, couldn't even swallow her own saliva as it would make her vomit. She got down to 98 lbs before they took her twins. They had found two small tumors inside the uterus and were going to watch them but the next time they looked, the tumors had grown so rapidly, they had smothered the babies and killed them. She and her husband tried again and it happened once more so they had to take the baby. They told her if she ever got pregnant again, it would kill her so she was sterilized, which ended her marriage because he wanted children so bad.

There is a case where the woman had this and in a state of desperation, gave her babies up for adoption. If you get a chance, go to Dr. Phil's website and read about it.

She's okay, I guess. Divorced and trying to make her way in the world, childless.

What a complicated piece of machinery the human body is! It always amazes me that any of us have been selected for birth and life in the first place.

Both the physical and mental letdown that she must have gone through... Hope your friend gets stronger over time.
