Dotsie Founder Registered: 07/09/08 Posts: 23647 Loc: Maryland	I attended a boomer funeral yesterday and couldn't help but realize that the eulogies were so boomerish. The two who spoke about my friend's life, mentioned the following: skateboarding surfing music hanging out in the van attending concerts living at the beach in the summer having kids later in life losing the battle to cancer I recently read, and I think we discussed in the forums at one point, how boomers were going to do funerals differently than the generations before us. This one was different. It was lovely. They gave out CDs of his favorite music at the reception. Very sad. He left two very young children. Please left them in prayer. Although he wasn't a boomer, (and I can't recall his name right now),I believe he was a comedienne. He made a video for all to see after the fact. Anyone know who I am talking about? She graduated from high school with me and had a six year battle with cancer that took her in the end. My friend had planned her funeral clear to the end with a Celabration of Life Memorial service at the St. Francis of Ass . What a beautiful service . My high school friend served on our reunion committee and had a zest for life . What a loss ! Makes me sad and I miss my friend so much . She was always the protecter . I wish to be cremated AND I do plan to have all arrangements made before hand. If it's possible, when the time comes, I want diamonds to be made from my ashes. A cyber buddy in New York made me aware of this company http://www.lifegem.com/ a few years ago. I am SERIOUSLY thinking about doing this... several small stones for my GC. I've heard about several of my classmates who passed away but we were never close enough for me to return home. As far as "boomer funerals" I was reading somewhere on line where they were talking about the very thing you mentioned Dotsie about your friend's funeral.
