Posting on Newhope's topic reminded me of this song. Not sure why. It is sung by a boy in one of my plays. It is my favorite. (I took out some choruses)

Yes I did write it for a play. Not for a Christmas play though. It was for a play about Belle Starr, the infamous female outlaw of the nineteenth century. At 39 she was released from prison and came to a family Christmas party. In my play Jim July, a 19 yr. old Creek Indian proposed to her at the party.
Because she has just been released from prison she feels that only a miracle could make anyone ever love her again. Jim July sings to her about the miracle of Christmas and proposes. She accepts.
