Rockports...or if you don't care to spend that much, try a good Naturalizer from Macy's. Use a coupon and get 10% off!!

I got two pair of K-swiss whatever. Did not hear of them but I paid $30 for$65 tennis shoes. So far,so good.

The sad thing, you really don't know HOW good shoes are unless you've put some miles on them. Then,it's too late to take them back!

Keep us posted, Di! We're all hoping your back and legs feel better with proper shoes.

Pam, my hubby loves his Rockports. I died when I saw how much he paid the first time around, but he wore them almost daily for a couple of years and they are so comfortable for him.

Occasionally I have to man a trade show booth snd I do have proper shoes for it. Mine have to look professional, but I wear the Euro-style shoes for everyday.

My favorite shoes are very improper. They are about 3 inches high and have pointy kill a roach in the corner toes. I certainly can't hike or shop or take Daisy for a walk, but they sure do look good!

It used to be that no matter how long you had owned your shoes, Nordstrom's(here in the Pacific Northwest)would return you money. No questions asked.
I haven't bought shoes there in many years, but one time I was very unhappy with a pair of shoes I bought there, had them for about six months, they took them back, and I got all my money back.
Hope they still have that policy.

I never ever realized that shoes mattered that much - guess cause I was younger and it never really mattered what I wore. However, I have been increasingly noticing that I was feeling my age. I recently bought my first pair of more expensive shoes - romika clogs and I can't believe how much better I feel. It really does make a huge difference having a well made pair of shoes.

We actually have the corporate office for Birkenstock in our county and everyone who wears them seems to love them.

Another online idea for buying shoes is zappos.com. They have a great selection of well made shoes.

Hope this helps!

I borrowed a friends pair of "Crocs" today and now I need them!

I am absolutely amazed that my hips NOR my knees NOR my feel hurt after working all day!

Sold! (too bad I already bought my other two pair of tennis shoes.:(
