Hi, this is Emilie's sister, Denise. I wanted to thank everyone who prayed for my sister. No one in my family had every been seriously ill, so we were all scared to death with her cancer diagnosis. Emilie is doing great now. They removed the tumor, she is back to work, and is about 21 weeks pregnant. She just married in September, and has the most wonderful husband in the world. He was so good to her after her surgery. He totally took care of her, bathing her, changing her daily dressings, and making sure all of her needs were met. He was a God-send to her. She will probably have to deliver her baby a little early so that she can begin interferon treatments which will last for 1 year. The doctor said that her only side effect will be fatigue. Update...Emily had her baby girl about 7-8 weeks ago and has begin her treatments. Please keep her and her family in your prayers.

She's exhausted and by the grace of God, has a big family full of love who are all tending to her needs. She has treatments for eleven months, has a 5 year old and a new baby. Please surround her in prayer.

Adding Emily her new baby and her husband and family to my prayers. She is so fortunate to have all this love and support around her....

I'm adding Emilie and her family to my prayer list, too. It's wonderful that she was able to deliver a healthy baby under these circumstances. I will pray that the side effects of the treatments be minimal and that she will have all the strength (and help) she needs - not just to endure but to conquer! Personally, I hate cancer and the power it has over our lives. There are just too many stories today. Has anyone ever read "When God and Cancer Meet"? It's a wonderful book that is available from the focus on the family web site, written from a Christian perspective, of course.

Songbird, I bet that's a wonderful book. I'm going to check it out.

Here's an update on Emilie. There have been changes.

She enters Hopkins today for a five day drug therapy treatment. Since the malignant
melanoma has metastasized to her bones, surgery has not been discussed as an option. Her family is hoping for a miracle, and appreciates your prayers.

Please tell everyone you know to pray for a miracle. She has a 5 year old son and a newborn.

My friend has taken her family in during this difficult time. Please pray for them too.

Oh my goodness. I'm so sorry to hear things are not well for Emilie and her family. They are definitely in my prayers.
