Only a 120 pair... . Store them all in the closet...do ya? My daughters would just be in heaven....they just love borrowing my shoes. Now I go for comfort. Most days you find me in a pair of Reebok tennis shoes... I feel like royality...in the princess style. Did buy 4 pair, you never know when they will discontinue the style you love. No wonder I go for comfort, it's the only shoe they don't borrow.

Welcome, Dandy! I love earrings, too, but don't have anywhere as many as you! You will love it here!
Chatty Lady, you are wonderful! Chunky Dunk! - I love it! We have lived on a lake for over 2 years; it would take me less than a minute to walk out the back door, down to the dock and jump in - but I've never been in above my knees - I think I'm just about the only one around who doesn't swim in the lake. I'm afraid if I get all the way in, the water level will go down!! Besides, there are a few unfamiliar 'creatures' in there sometimes, like little fish....

Welcome, welcome, welcome Dandy! I see by all the other "welcomes" you are getting to know some of us already - we're a lovable, supportive, FUN bunch here...glad you found us.
I love earrings too - most of mine are ones I've purchased at craft fairs - I find they are always the most unique designs. Meredith, a Boomer you will meet here, makes BEAUTIFUL jewelry. You will have to check out her website.

What great greetings! I was wishing someone would pick up on Mary Lasswell. Hers are the original feminist characters, funny too. Granted, they are from the 1940's, just hoped someone would recognize them. Anyway, thanks for the welcome. I needed to know there were friends out there.

Welcome Dandy, I've been married 30 years and most have been good but surely not exciting anymore!
But, we're strong boomer women and we know how to survive! Thanks for trying us on.

ladybug- Isn't it nice to know we have a place to whisper about life without consequences? I love my husband, always will, just need to re-establish ones self occasionally. Love your name. One of God's best things, the ladybug.

Hiya Dandy from 100 miles southeast of you. Since my name was mentioned twice in this thread I think I'll add that my business is jewelry design, selling mostly at arts and crafts fairs, with a few shops and galleries and my 2 websites (below). The websites represent less than 10% of my total product (realistically, maybe only 5%) but I do a lot of custom work and am happy to send pics to anyone looking for a specific type of item. I sold my work at craft fairs in Ventura in the 1990's but haven't been there for about 5 years. I "limit" myself to 100 pairs of earrings. If I MUST have new ones (if I borrow them from my display 3 times, they're mine!) I give up an older pair, change the earwires, and sell them! Or sometimes I make little changes and sell them, depends on my mood. If I've had them for more than 20 years, I label them ANTIQUE -- HA! from my personal collection, and they're usually sold really fast. I've always loved jewelry, which is why this is such a fun job

Hi Meredith,
Several people have referred to you and I took a delightful stroll around your site. Beautiful! I envy your doing something so creative. Most of my earrings have come from grab bags at thrift shops. I have some remarkable pairs, of course they are a little out of date. Here's a question...Do women's ear lobes become larger with age? I know men's do, I guess I'm heading that way because my wires seem to swing more freely all the time. Is this the stupidest comment or is there a runner-up? I find myself wearing posts at lot. I must be hoping the world's problem will be solved in the next 1/2 hour, and a new issue is needed. I have built an effigy of a character in my favorite book. Her name is Agnes Harriet Tinkham, and until we moved she had her own room. She is paper mache (sp) with carefully molded earlobes for wires. Too much fun!
