I understand. Food costs so much, it's difficult to throw anything away. But brown eggs are about as attractive as
Barney Fife.

This is truly an interesting thread. Thanks for starting it. Sitting here reading all of this in wonderment. Who would have thought eggs could keep that long. I can't tell you how many eggs we've thrown out because of the code on them. Grr!

I guess your friend should have listened to you Chat's. That's so funny. Truthfully I don't think I would have thought to put blue coloring into the yolks. Glad you put it there - I'll remember it when I do colored deviled egge. LOL. Had a good time on this thread. Thanks!

Blondi,
I know. The chocolate covered ones don't do as much for as the
original selection4 me, but I'm addicted to those things. There goes my diet!

Jabber as long as you limit some calories in other meals or skip one meal all together, eating the peeps instead, you shouldn't see your weight fluctuate at all. Plus you can always begin your diet anew after easter.

Growing up, I remember we kept eggs for several months down in the basement where it's cooler.

I think we have half dz. eggs in total annually or less. Usually for baking something or making spaetzle (German dumpling).

Otherwise we've had eggbeater or egg whites for past 10 yrs. or so. I only prepare a dish with the eggbeaters about once per wk. or less. I dunno. When we vacation somewhere, I will have an egg for breakfast occasionally..whatever a restaurant offers.

Just bought one chocolate covered peep to put in my daughter's basket. While getting organized for Easter yesterday, I opened it and took one bite. Can you believe it? Only one bite. I'll probably finish it when getting their baskets together, or maybe later today when I'm craving chocolate.

Blondi, I think I've been in that store. Is it at that resort type place with hotels, restaurants and shops, on the water? Loved that area.
