First I'd like to thank Mama Red and Princess Lenora, precious, precious people, as are the rest of you. I know there'd be more to name if I'd made this announcement sooner. Because of untamed emotions - on my part - I wasn't strong enough to 'go public,' so to speak. I don't think either MR or PL would mind me saying that we were in private conversations for other matters when they learned. I don't know how long this link will work, but as it is now, the obituary for my dad is now available online: MY DAD. luv ya all...mona... & I'll be back.

gims, you and I have talked also and you know I understand a lot of what you share. May God's love embrace you in a way you never thought possible. I will pray for peace in your heart and mind. My sincere condolences during this difficult time.

((Gims))
I'm sad for you. Don't know what it's like to lose a Dad, but a mother I know. It's hard losing a part of you....and you never, ever forget such minute details of their lives.
That was a wonderful write-up of him. He used his "dash" very well.
Bless you, Gims!

Gims, I'm sorry for this loss. You know, obituaries are difficult to read and write. I must say though that your father's obituary was more like a brief bio. It really pointed out some of his characteristics, such as wit. It seems like he accomplished a lot. Oh, I think it's good that you chose to share here. I am sure you will receive lots of love, care, and support. Take care, L, Pl

I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your father, gims. In this forum, you seem to try to carry the spirit of your father when you speak with us.

Oh Mona, I am so sorry to hear about your father’s passing. I read his obituary, and felt I was reading of a great man.
It’s terrible that we are all in the generation of losing our parents. And I do believe it hurts as much now, as when one is younger.
I send you a virtual long hug and a sisterly shoulder to rest your head on. I wish I could do this in real life.
Dear friend, God bless you and your family.
