Dotsie is the winning story already online?

I was just wondering, do you read all 70 entries and judge them yourself? That's quite a task.

Is this for the grandparent memory contest with Grand?

If so, we had over 160 entries and all were read. The editor of Grand read all of them. I read all but the last few when I got an email from her with her top 11, many of which were also on my list.

Reading contest entries is always one of the favorite parts of my job. These were so reminiscent of the era in which we were raised.

For all the grandparents out there: something interesting I learned - the majority of favorite memories had nothing to do with spending money on grandchildren. They were about spending time, and usually right in the grandparent's homes.

Since this was such a success, we're doing another one with Grand; still deciding on the topic. I'll keep you posted.

Oh, and Hannelore, all poeple who entered will be notified. It just takes a huge amount of time to make the email list of all entrants. They are going our in small batches as soon as we have the next topic pinned down.

When I think of all those Grandparents being paid tribute to..from their Boomer grandchildren I feel such happiness.
