being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

This verse so very comforting to me because I know God will not give up on me and will continue working on me until the end. He knows I'm a work in progress and doesn't expect me to be perfect and accepts me with all my worts and flaws.

Daisy, when I'm down, I often think that God NEVER gives up on me, so who am I to be down? Amazing what that does for one's spirit, isn't it? We should all love one another that way.

Unconditionally. Thank you for reminding me.

JJ

This post makes me wonder what does God think when he hears women whining continously about old age and all the changes it brings. I imagine he is saddened by the ingratitude he hears. Old age as some call it, I prefer maturity, brings with it wisdom, experience, understanding and readiness for whatever comes next. Please consider how many womens lives are cut short by disease or violence, they never get the chance to grow older. Thank God for the wonderous women we have become, he doesn't make mistakes....

I wouldn't trade my 40's for my teens, my 20's or my 30's! I've gained so much more than I have lost! [Smile]

I didn't think of it that way Chatty, but this verse does mean God values the maturity and wisdom we acquire. I guess I prefer to live my life by what God values and not the world, even though I'm not always successful.

I was dreading turning 50 this year, but I feel more "me" than I ever have before in my life. I feel like dancing on one of those Colorado mountaintops and flinging my hands into God's sky and shouting "THANK GOD I'M 50!"

The only thing that might make me want to go back is the chance to see my Mom and Dad again just one more time, but other than that, I wouldn't even think about going back in time. I'll keep my wrinkles and every single grey hair that's peeking through these days...I just realized how much I love being me - that is, "God's work in progress" - today! Thanks Daisy for that tidbit of "Good News"!
