Thanks for all your love and support during this time of loss. I just wanted to share with you what my sister will be reading at my Dad's graveside service tomorrow.

Letter to my Dad,
When I met you Dad,
I knew the empty spot in my life disappeared.
I no longer wondered why I was so different from my Mother. I found me when I found you.
I found the answers to my questions.
I knew I looked like you, but I did not know how much our personalities were alike!
We started getting to know each other,
I found that you had taken adult piano lessons,
I did also.
You wrote and sent me pictures of your current projects.
Amazed, I looked at your pictures of dollhouses and shops,
I had one I was working on in the basement at the same time.
You passed down to me; a love of gadgets,
(it does not matter what kind, if it is new, I need it!)
History, love of movies and being with people.
You inherited your sweet tooth as well.
That I could have done without!
You gave me a wonderful sister that understands me
and that I love very much.
We share several personality traits,
first was our love for you.
The most important trait you gave to me was a love of writing. I wanted to allow you to live your dream through me. I wish I could have read the story you wrote. I felt the love and pride you sent my way after reading my work.
Simply From My Heart is my first book.
I did not tell you Dad, I wanted it to be a surprise for Father’s Day and my visit, but it was not ready yet.
You were feeling better so I intended to send it to you
as an early Birthday present. My book is dedicated to you.
The dedication reads like this:
To Dad,
Thanks for:
Introducing me to the wonders of the Bay Area,
The Winchester Mystery House,
The Cubs vs. Giants game,
Alcatraz Island,
My love for electronics, gadgets,
And garage sales and
“Our” trip on the Bart to the city.
Most of all Dad, thanks for passing your writing genes down to me.
This book is for you, with all my love.
Simply From My Heart is being printed right now. I know you are still here with me, encouraging me and cheering me on. I have an added incentive to become the best writer I can be.
Dad, I love you and proud to be your daughter.
