GONE TOO LONG

Have been away for longer then ever,
never knew I'd be gone and forget my endeavor.

Today I've decided to write a poem,
stuck in the house too soon to go roam.

Amazing how my mind seemed to go dead,
couldn't think of rhyming words inside of my head.

But today I feel better and my thoughts are growing,
so I've written this poem cause my words are now flowing.

The hurricane is near over, my friends are all safe,
I've stopped complaining about our heat, I'm lucky it's cool and dry in my place.
