Edelweiss3, I loved that poem about being sweet to mom and the
store clerks appreciating the kindness you've shown. I wish everybody treated the elderly in a kind, respectful way!

Chatty, I love your poetry, too.

Oglebay Park

Went on vacation, down WV way,
and visited a park,
they named Oglebay.

On the left, wild deer,
Were enjoying their lunch,
It was a lush, green hillside,
Of grass, that they munched.

To the right, far below,
Two ponds 'bout overflowed,
And ducks lined the shores,
With many a row.

A thought came to me,
God must live here,
I'd never seen such beauty,
In one place, all these years.

Green grass, yellow buildings,
Blue paddle boats and a zoo,
Streams and playgrounds,
Oh my gosh, kids have so much to do.

Grounds people were preparing,
A Christmas light display,
Was told, folks 'round the world,
Travel here just to play.

The peacefulness this Oglebay,
Park doth empart,
Forever shall live,
Down deep in my heart!
