Jsbber that was deep. Very well written.

Words: tab, tabernacle, table, tablespoon

As usual Hubby picked up the tab,
This time it wasn’t so bad.
Considering our table was at the window,
With a view over the lake and meadow.
The place was a pretty cool pad.

The only thing that was bad,
Was our waiter, who looked so sad.
He shuffled with his shoes,
While humming the blues
He was a young 25 year old kind of lad.

Finally, we asked him what was wrong,
Interrupting his sad humming song.
He stuck a tablespoon behind his ear,
wiped away a rolling tear,
As we heard the church bells ring loud and long.

He said his woman lay in that church,
Hi up on a rose bedded perch.
Right near the tabernacle alter,
The waiter sobbed, and began to falter.

We asked him why he’s not there,
To be with his woman in prayer.
He said he needed the work,
His boss was a jerk
And he had 5 kids to feed and care.

Hubby took his wallet from his pocket,
And I took off my golden locket,
We handed all we had,
To the sad crying lad,
Said, - we want that boss’s head and knock it.

When suddenly through the door,
A girl crossed the floor.
Kissed our waiter on the mouth,
I think they headed south.
Jeesh, glad he didn’t give us an encore!
