Edelweiss3 & Chatty, Your poems made me smile. I never owned purple sneakers but do have a pair of bright pink Nikes. LOL...Poems are joyful things!

Words: black, white, menu, butler

Black as black is the darkest night,
And celestial stars shine ever so white.

That new place in town, they call "Snooty Fox,"
The neighbor's butler says, its menu really rocks.

Yesterday I read, here in the boomers' forum,
Three Vegas kittens now live in nice, new decorum.

Thoughts of Las Vegas bring to my mind,
Glamor, glitter, entertainment so fine.

Never have I considered the neglected or those in strife,
Seldom do I think 'bout abandoned animal life.

So this off-hand tribute, honors loving volunteers,
Those like Chatty who help, the needy down through
the years!

P.S. Just want you to know that stanza about the butler
is mere fiction to accommodate given words. Groovy and I
do not live in the section of town that hires butlers.
We're plain country folk!
