thread, broke, hurt, end

A needle and thread went out for a drink
And sat on some spools at the bar
The needle was broke and needed a smoke
So he bought him a fancy cigar

A round of Pale Ale was bought by the thread
And they started a yarn about britches
T'was funny to see them joking and laughing
These two old friends were in stitches

Not long ago they fought like two fools
So they patched up and mended their hurt
They button their lips now and see eye to eye
In the end they would each give their shirt

When life gets you down and you're wanting to fight
Just think like the two of these friends
So pull up a spool and have a good chat
And go about making amends
