Chatty, what an appropiate poem. And you were able to get it together. You go girl!

alley, thunder, sparrow, puzzle

Lightening struck, and the thunder rolled
Slanted rain poured; wind, gusty and cold.
Animals seeked shelter in bushes and alleys,
As the noise resounded between hills and valleys.

In the warmth of my home I was sitting,
working on puzzles, and knitting.
Not thinking of the poor animals in peril,
When on my window sill hopped a tiny sparrow.

I opened the window to let him in,
From the rain and the crashing bin.
When behind followed a robin and doe,
A skunk, rabbit, and a sopping hobo.

“Come on in!” I cried with glee.
“We will celebrate a happy dry party!”
I got raisins and seeds, and hay to lie down,
The storm passed, they said thanks, and left without a sound.
