Oh my, I've got my eye on a shabby chic sofa! Have any of ya'll any experience with this Rachel Ashwell furniture line? I'm providing the web addy:

my favorite sofa:

A bit expensive, yet my tushy needs comfortable cushions! Kincaid made a similar sofa, yet now going out of business. Not to hip on Ethan Allen -- I've seen many complaints. My present sofa is nearly 14 years and the springs scring!

What are your favorite furniture styles, makers, fabrics, etc? Pros / Cons?

14 years old! I have never made that kind of committment to anything.
I love cushy furniture, but Dennis, with Parkingson's, now needs stiffer furniture. We are looking to buy a leather sofa to provide the "slip" he needs to get up.

I have leather. I didn't think I would like it. My husband wanted leather. I like it now that I'm used to it. I fall asleep on it just as easily as any other.

Great sofa, Mustang. We have leather right now. It's cold in the winter. I prefer cloth but I'm not sure it would hold up as well with a dog. I need something that doesn't stain.

I love the Shabby Chic style. I could get lost in a room with a overstuffed 1930's chair or chaise lounge, a good book, a roaring fire, and Sam Elliott........ahem..ahem...Sorry.

JJ, who is Sam Elliott married to? I can't remember that lucky woman's name.

Mustang, I ended up with a red leather sofa and I love it. Daisy doesn't like to sit on it but I have a thick pad/blanket for her to lay on.

It's definitely NOT shabby chic, but my decor is very ecletic (sp?) and I have a combination of old, new and funky.

He was or is married to the blonde who played opposite Dustin Hoffman in Tootsie. Gads, what is her name?

Well, it looks like the hub is going to buy another flatscreen tv. The one we have is 40 inches and he's looking at a 60 inch one now. Soon, the entire wall is going to be one big television! It's HD so will be nice.
