Got a wireless mouse. Am I doing something wrong? It won't "mind" me. I'm so frustrated I'd like to throw it against the wall.

Dianne, is it going wild all over the place? Mine does that when the surface under it is too slick (mine's not wireless, though).

It's almost impossible to click onto something. It has to hit it exactly perfect or it doesn't work. I'm so frustrated I could scream. SCREAM!

It's all over the place except for where you want it to be. I even tried using my mouse pad and that didn't work. I guess I'm gonna be making a trip to Best Buy. Grrrr.....

You might try to right click on the mouse icon. It may be on the desktop or at the right bottom of the screen.
Go to setup, options or controls and click it to see if you can set the "dithering" rate.

Sometimes that will stop the wild mouse from running around on the screen.

However homicide (or mouseicide) should always be an option.

Just don't throw it at your screen...then you'll have two broken things to worry about.

Wish I could help. BTW, sometimes mice go crazy when they're dirty...check the bottom and see if the ball underneath is rolling correctly (do wireless mice have balls?) If there is a ball and it's not rolling around freely, it might be dirty and needs cleaning.

For those who care to attend, there will be a brief memorial service for the wireless mouse this evening. I killed the sucker!

It's brand new so can't be dirty or have weak batteries. I just went to Best Buy and got another one...the old fashion kind with a wire.

I'll give the dead mouse to my husband and let him figure it out.

Did you throw it at a wall, Dianne?? That's what I would have done. Lost more tv remotes that way, may they RIP...

This thread has taken on a life of it's own and a good one at that.

Now, let me warn everyone. I do know how to castrate. I helped my Vet gild (sp may not know how to spell it but I know how to do it!) two of my horses so this makes me a highly trained professional in this department. Men, start your engines and start running for cover.

My husband said he was going to start a civil suit against me on behalf of all the male animals on the farm because I had all of them whacked. He knew he was next!

Seriously, my company markets a few wireless mice,(along with many other computer accessories). I've tried many and do not like them at all and use a mouse w/wire. The batteries don't last very long, either.
