Criminal actions allowed this...but plenty people must have known..those who work there and owners who are out for profit.
Horses that were sent to rescue centres in good faith...exported from Ireland to Europe..its a long line ..none in Scotland...but food has been found and withdrawn due to containing dna not from cattle.Usually in processed frozen food.

I just found this article in Hella Wella with facts about horse meat, and thought it would be worth sharing.

According to the article, no horse meat has yet been found in the United States, but they do agree with Mountain Ash's statement:

This grows and grows...Ikea the big Swedish company have meatballs in the cafes (Now withdrawn)
as tests are made we get more information.My concern is the medication horses have had which is in the food chain.Horses bred for food on the Continent are free of the drugs..
Seems horse meat is cheap so provide seems to have driven the criminal behaviour.

I've even heard reports about Green Tea not being what's advertised but is some sort of grass substitute. Apparently all types of con games are going on.
