Has anyone seen this movie? I am going with Richard tomorrow night.

My brother and his wife saw it today and said it is the most awesome movie they've ever seen.

Cheers,
Cathi

I really want to see it. I've heard the theaters are selling out so I'm content to wait another week or two.

It is awesome! I loved it and I want to go to Pandora.

Seriously, this movie had so many meaningful messages IMO. It made me reflect on many deep issues.

So while I went for the sake of this being Sci-Fi, I took with me some very profound food for thought when I left the theater.

I really cannot tell you too much more because I don't want to give anything away.

Please let me know when you see it Meredith. I will be interested to read about any impact this storyline may have had on you, or if at all.

Cheers,
Cathi

Avatar is very very popular, and my husband is a true Sci-Fi fan, so I know we will see it at some point.

My dilemma is that when I have watched the trailers on TV, I flinch and shut my eyes, because some of the characters look like insects, which happens to be a phobia of mine.

It's so strange how I can watch crime shows for the most part, yet these Avatar characters creep me out.

Well maybe its because there are no crime shows I kinow of with insects in the cast, LOL!!! But beware if you are freaked out by insects because they all look like bugs to me in Avatar. Really creepy!

I've heard that some people who watch it in 3-D get pretty sick to their stomach.

Not for me. But when it comes out on cable, I'll watch it with my Sci-Fi-loving husband, and I'll be sure to have a few magazines in my lap. lol

I just saw this 2 weeks ago and think it's one of the best movies I've ever seen. The message, the world view, the graphics, everything.

The people did not look like bugs at all. But if someone else thought so -- well, you see what you see.

Hubbo was worried about the 3D glasses because he forgot to change to contacts and had to wear them over his coke bottles, but he said it was no problem at all.

The world-view of Pandora has been my personal philosophy for a long time, so the ideas were not new. I absolutely loved the presentation.

I may see this again while it's still in theaters 3D, it was that good.

This is not a movie I would enjoy, but my daughter and son, the filmmaker, both raved about it. They also watched The Making Of on cable. My son was trying to explain the way it was created, but I honestly couldn't even follow him. The technology is way above my head.

You're welcome Edelweiss! A gf and I were thinking about seeing it in a week or two in IMAX 3D, to be immersed even more. wink

We saw it in 3D. Yes it's worth it, especially when they start flying around on those gigantic birds;...woosh...right over your head. lol

I love it when we take our friend's recommendations here. I recently enjoyed the book that Anno suggested, The Wednesday Sisters.

It was so profound to me and there were so many messages within this film itself.

I was so moved when she showed him love in his human form. I am sorry for being cryptic, but I don't want to give anything away to those who plan on seeing this movie.

Cheers,
Cathi

Oh yes, Cathi! That was a most moving moment, although I got to admit...it did look a bit strange. (giggle giggle)

I kind of knew that would happen (and the following scene too) but that didn't lessen the impact.

We finally went to see Avatar today. It wasn't the 3-D version, but we enjoyed it. The visuals were awesome! Even though the storyline was predictable, I still enjoyed it. And I was thrilled to hear Wes Studi's voice - he is such a cool actor. As soon as I heard the voice, I knew who it was. I loved the philosophy that everything is connected - sort of what I have believed for a long time.
