Some of you know we just remodeled our kitchen. While doing so, I ordered curtains to be made by Calico Corners. The gal I worked with was amazing. She was so nice, very professional, knowledgable and really worked with me to get the total within reason.
She said it would be 6-8 weeks. It's been almost 8.
Two weeks ago, they called and needed to do one more measurement so they came by again and did so.
Since I didn't hear anything, I called yesterday to speak with the gal who was so helpful. Turns out, she was meaning to call me.
She heard from the work room and they need to charge me a thousand dollars extra (WHAT) becasue the top of the big valance is a curve, and they needed three more yards of trim.
HUH?
I was befuddled. Got two work calls while I was on the phone with her so it was all disjointed.
She wanted me to decide to go ahead on the phone.
I'm thinking...cancel the freaking order. Do you think I"m crazy? What are they thinking? What was she thinking?
I was not happy, but had the presence of mind to think God. It's what I do when I need to get ahold of myself, or feel myself spiraling out of control. Know what I mean? So I adjusted my frame of mind and asked her to please send us all the paper work, we'd look over it, then get back to her at the end of the week.
There was no way I was paying that, but needed time to think about how I was going to proceed.
When Ross got home, I told him and we both laughed and talked about how ridiculous it was; how can you run a business like that, etc.
Got home from Dad's last night and there was a message from the gal saying that she spoke with her manager and they agreed to give us the curtains for the original amount. No need to worry, and they would put a rush on it.
Well holy moly. What do you know. But can you imagine? Did they really think we were going to go for that?
I still can't figure it our, but whatever, I'll be getting the curtains within a couple weeks.
I continue to be amazed by professionals. This is a store that sells fabric and is known for making quality curtains. Go figure.
