Valentine's Day...

OK, the dreaded “V” day is once again on the horizon.
I told you all about the out-of-state guy I’m “seeing” now. We’ve only spent four weekends together so far, and talk often.
Anyway, I want to get him something for Valentine’s Day, but it has to be a generic/non-romantic type gift. I suppose I just want to acknowledge the day without overdoing anything because he doesn’t seem to be the romantic type.
Any suggestions?

How about buying tickets to a movie?

Edelweiss, I probably won't get to see him again until mid to late February, depending on what his work schedule is. So I'd like for the gift to be something I could mail, that he could enjoy without me being there.
This is a hazard/problem with long distance stuff, especially when in the "getting to know someone" stage. If he was local, buying tickets to an event would be no problem, that is a fantastic idea.
Thanks for the thought...

Maybe a card "would" be enough. Or a card and some sort of gift certificate.
I know he likes me, that is obvious. But not being around each other much makes this sort of thing hard. And I truly don't know if he will do anything for me for the occasion, maybe he isn't at that point yet. But I don't want to ignore it, in case he "does" send a card or something.
So to answer your question Anno, it's going well, when we're together we are very compatible, and we talk often between visits. I do admit though, it would be nice to be dating someone local, so a mid-week dinner or a regular Saturday night date would be possible. This once every six weeks or longer thing is going to get old.

OK, a card it is. Thanks ladies, it's always good to get opinions and affirmations from you all!
