That was real pretty Eagle.
Have you ever had a caramel stick to your gums?
Can't get it down with the strength of your tongue?
You suck it, you pick it, and you can't make it fall,
You switch on the lamplight; in the mirror you ball!
The bridges get loose; your fillings come out,
You swear this ain't funny as you jump all about.
No string is in sight to floss your teeth,
Aha! There's a garland lying right by the wreath!
You step back from the window, don't want anyone to see.
As you stuff garland ends so carefully,
Into you mouth to catch that mean old caramel;
The tinsel tickles, your mouth starts to swell.
Ding dong ! Oh no who could that be?!
With a sparkly mouth, you open the door carefully.
Forgetting the caramel, you give your friends a big hello.
Your smile is full of glitter; you put on quite a show.
So now we have the start of a new fashion hit.
It's the sparkly teeth powder in the plastic kit!
A tinsel or two hanging down from your ears,
Makes a bombastic smile! Cheers and happy New Year!

Edelweiss, I'm laughing so hard I can barely type...tears are streaming down my face...this is the most delightful poem I think I've ever read! And I cannot remember the last time I laughed this well. I'm printing it off and pinning it up on the bulletin board beside the computer!

Edelweiss with that last poem you out did yourself, no kidding!
My job was to hire Christmas help,
to do the restaurant staffing.
If I weren't so overwhelmed,
I'd have fainted dead away from LAUGHING.
The first to apply was plain rotund,
I was shocked that she was so smelly,
This poor huge girl needed two zip codes,
one for her and one for her BELLY.
Tried her out in the office to be kind,
but it was obvious she wasn't clerical,
The mistakes she made were so stupid,
every person that worked there was HYSTERICAL.
I fudged and said she had artistic presence,
go down to Macys and wrap PRESENTS.
WORDS: pinch, fire, water, tolerate

Ill tempers we need not tolerate,
For folks' are in a good mood,
Christmas is near and it seems quite clear,
People's minds are on the great food.
Grandma is in the kitchen,
baking up a storm.
A pinch of this, a dash of that,
A dab of water and blend,
O'er the fire, stir, stir, stir
It's plain to see, even to me,
Gram's cookin' is a hit with the men.

to bang on the pots
sure must have had lots
of second thoughts
Cuz I can't understand
the appeal of a band
of hammering and
banging on pans.
But I may be wrong
Maybe there's song
in the rhythm of throngs
of tots on cots beating strong.
(From my days working in daycare...LOL)

Can you relate to the rushing around
and the weight gain of this time, oy
have to run all over town to find just
the right present for Mary and Tom
and the wrapping, and that new, blue
dress you just have to get for that
family Christams party, not to mention
the planning and preparing of food,
and the can't resist eating of all that
fattening
holiday spread.
But, now it's Christmas night and
it's alright, take a sigh of delight,
cause your through, WHEW!! LOL
