EW, love your garden, especially the blues. What are those two flowers?

We had a gentleman at our church who was the king of the roses. Here's what he taught me. When dead-heading (meaning cutting back the roses that have already bloomed) use clippers and cut down to the next set of five leaves. When I heard it, I was like...what? But sure enough, you will find set of numbered leaves. Cut just before the next group of five. That's where new blossoms grow from. It works. Check it out and let me know what you find.

Dee and Meredith, I got the peach tea waiting for you on the terrace. Nothing would make me happier then to have you come and visit!

We do have a perfect climate for flowers; a good mixture of sun and rain. Sometimes too much rain, but this year has been just right.

Clipping down to the next set of 5 leaves is interesting Dotsie. Got to tell Hubby about that.

The blue flowers are delphinium, larkspur. They bloom twice in the summer, and each time for several weeks.

Dotsie...we also cut down to just above a stem with 5 leaves...it works.
Edelweiss...my hubby and I are planning a European trip when he retires...God willing we'll be passing through your neck of the woods and we'll take you up on the tea...:)
