Who's started? Who's finished?

I got the Christmas china out yesterday, but that's the extent of my decorating thus far. Outdoor decoration go up this week and the tree and indoors get done next weekend. This is the first year we'll be doing it without the kids. And they were so much help. NOT! Maybe they put a few tree decorations on the past few years, but that's about it.

I plan on going through the decorations again this year and weedin gout some things to give to the Salvation Army. The older I get, the less I want.

Hi, Dotsie: My tree is up but the small tree will be bare until the grandchildren come to decorate it. The presepe (Nativity creche) is up but the crib is still empty. Mary and Joseph, the Three Kings are currently on their journey all over the house to it. The shepherds are sleeping in the backgarden and will join them and the people of the "village" on Christmas Eve. Still have to put on lights. A few of the bulbs have gone. I may have to get a new set to be on the safe side. Polished your silverware, yet?

I've been purchasing some things I need to finish up. Today I got the wreath on the front door, my tree is up and decorated and the Dickens village is on display.

I love Christmas!

I pulled out several boxes of christmas decorations and spent the day putting them up. I am so surprised at my lifted spirits. Last year, I just wanted to get through the holidays and this year I am putting out the decorations and it's barely December.

My son surprised me by getting his haircut yesterday on his day off and I would like to take a photo of the two of us in our Christmassy livingroom to include in our Christmas cards.. hopefully I can include copies in the boomer cards

I love Christmas too!

I don't do much decorating any more. I have a nice wreath on the door and that may be it for me...I used to really get into it when the kids were little...but now not so much!

We won't be home for the holidays, so all I did this year was put out some candles to warm up the house. Does this make me a Scrooge?

Definitely not, Anno! My brother has never decorated his apartment because he's never home for Christmas. But since he's housebound with his cancer this year, I went out yesterday and bought a whole bag of decorations at the Dollar Store. When he woke up from his nap, the living room was tastefully decorated...simple, but not overwhelming. I think he liked it. It's the first time in his life (he's 42) his apartment has ever been decorated...the most he's ever done is hang a wreath on his door.

No tree this year for me -- very kitten friendly! Placed some decor out of her reach and lit up the front porch w/ a tree, snowman, wreath and lights. Eagle Heart, thanks for the reminder, I need to stop by the dollar store soon, too!

At Thanksgiving Mom had the grandsons (traditionally they do this) bring in the BIG tree and put it together. Then the GRANDSONS fix all the limbs and get the lights working....Then ALL of the grandchildren put the decorations on. Lea got to participate this year and she was so delighted. She had a ball. "Come on gan maw, play with me!" she shouted so I got on my hands and knees and helped her hang ornaments "at her level." Then the GRANDSONS helped me get up. What fun we had!

Now...I get to do it all over again at MY house! I've been under the weather a bit and didn't want the grandkids to catch anything so I've kept them at bay...but next weekend we'll decorate MY tree!
