Dee Member Registered: 06/27/05 Posts: 2561 Loc: Alabama	First, I've never quilted in my life, but I have this burning desire to do this now that I'm retired. I want to make my son a patriotic quilt of the stars and stripes...I've seen some pretty cool fabric and wondered if any of you have any patterns you'd share or advice or pictures or gosh, just about anything that would help me (a beginner) make something that my son would be proud of. I have a program where average citizens use my Send Out Cards system to send free cards to military members serving overseas. If your son is one of them (or someone else you know)...I would love to add him to my list of receipants! No, my son isn't overseas, althought he was in both gulf wars and spent time with this one...He's a SMSgt in the Air Force. He was active duty but now is active Reserve/civil service, doing what he loves...refueling our military aircraft in the air...he loves to say "I lay on my stomach and pass gas for a living." He flies about twice a week and he is one of the most patriotic American's you'll want to meet. Thanks for asking. I think what you're doing is wonderful. Can anyone get involved in this project?
