I listen last night and heard Lousia's voice for the first time . What an interesting show . Lousia talked about her trip with her friends last weekend and to see Paul Anka , how is exciting is that . I did hear Dotsie come on the show also and talk about her friends how get away for a fun weekend . I don't think that is for me .

I have no idea what this show was really about. But just taking the topic title itself, I have to say it's rare that I've travelled on long trips with girlfriends. It has happened only about 4-5 times in life...each time there was only 1 other woman...only for about 5-7 days. Other times (again rare) with a sister ranging from a wk. to several weeks.

I relate best as a good friend, one-to-one with another person. Probably indicates my introspective/hermity nature. It must be a reaction from being raised in a large noisy family..or being first-born child. You know, that independent loner child..that loves to amuse themselves for hrs.

Having a good time for a few hrs. with other women seems to work best for me, at most with 2-3 other women. I learn the most and don't feel my voice is lost among the crowd.

Mostly, I like to travel with my husband and that's what I usually do. I often go off for the day with my girlfriends. There are 5 of us and we go back to before high school. Now, we get together for birthdays, Christmas and day trips. I hadn't gone away over night in years, except a few summers ago when my daughter and I went to Ogunquit for a weekend. We had a good time so we went to CT to a casino another time over night.

When I had the chance to see Paul Anka and my husband couldn't go, I asked my girlfriend. It worked out great with just two of us. We emailed back and forth for days about what we were going to pack like we were going away for a month. My husband couldn't understand how we could talk on the phone the morning before we left when we were going to be with each other for the next two days. We talked all the way there. We gambled when we wanted to gamble, (which was most of the time we were away) shopped when we wanted to shop, ate when we felt like it, stopped to ask directions when we got lost, stayed up till 3 in the morning and laughed a lot.
