What is everyone doing for the commemoration of 9/11?

I was glad to learn that my church is having an evening service in the chapel. I plan on being there asking God to continue to heal the families and friends of loved ones who lost their lives that mysterious day.

There is a peace walk planned that evening in our town - we walk from the cenotaph down to the marina, and there is a short, non-denominational prayer service at the peace pole there. Last year the volunteer firemen (my hubby is one) joined the walk in full uniform to honor firemen killed 9/11.

Well, I went on the peace walk last night and I must admit I was a little disappoined at the turnout - definitely not as many there as last year. How we quickly we forget.

Still, the prayers were nice and I stood there, listening to the bagpipes playing while staring out over the river to Doghead Mountain and felt very peaceful indeed.
