Chocolate rum cake

half cup chopped pecans
chocolate cake mix
small box chocolate instant pudding
4 eggs
half cup cold water
half cup vegetable oil
half cup dark rum

Pam a fancy bundt pan
sprinkle the nuts in the bottom

Mix the rest of the above ingredients and bake at 325 degrees for about 45 minutes, or until done.

Here's the ingredients for the glaze that you pour into the cake:

one quarter pound butter
one quarter cuup water
one cup sugar
one half cup of dark rum

Melt the better and add the water and sugar.
Boil for five minutes.
Remove from the heat and stir in the rum.

When the cake is cooked and while it's still in the pan, prick the top of the cake all over and pour all but a teeny bit of the suace over the cake. Do this slowly and let it seep in as it pours. It can get sloppy.

After about an hour of soaking, invert the cake to a cake plate.
Prick more holes and pour the rest of the sause over the cake.

YUMMY. People love this dang thing! It's a crowd pleaser.

I got drunk once from eating too many rum balls. Of course I am NO drinker so it didn't take much. Got plastered royally once from unsuspectingly eating hash brownies. I mean I was totally hammered, and sooo funny as I was told later... Humm!!!

Hash brownies? A kid at my dauaghter's high school brought them to school and was serving them up in the lunch room before school started. She got caught! Can you imagine being so stupid?

The cake is extremely moist. You can almost drink it.

Oh please, meeeee???? I guess I got up on the piano and did a rather suggestive dance. Lots of hands in pockets that night, he, he. MY husband stopped by the party to pick me up after he closed the bar and said the next day at breakfast we had the best sex ever, that I was like some wild creature...Damn and I can't remember anything but the headache I had. But after that time he'd lear at me for no apparent reason, and then get playful...

Was chatty wild or what? Was this when you owned the bar?

Ladies, you can also make this cake with yellow cake mix and vanilla pudding. That's what the original recipe was, but I changed it to make it chocolate.

Yes we owned the Speakeasy Lounge but this party was at the Mayors home. I've never drank alcolol of any kind and never got drunk just for the heck of it either. But I never could resist a delicious chocolate brownie, so when the booze came around, I said, "no thank you," and instead ate two brownies. I unfortunately didn't know about the secret ingredient someone slipped in while they were being made. It was all suppose to be a joke and everyone (BUT ME) got a huge laugh out of it. They said I danced on the piano and sang like Marilyn Monroe. Singing "I Wanna Be Loved By You, boo, boop, da, boo." Somewhere there are pictures of me taken during my risque performance...Chatty hangs head in shame, whoa is me!!!

Truth be told, I would love to see those pictures again though, he, he...
