I was recently viewing the recipes and admittedly stealing many, when I came across a biscotti recipe. The real Italian Biscotti does not use almond paste, but ground almons, and anise oil, and anise seeds. I am an Italian and raised with only Italian food by my grandmother and mother, who both immigrated here. Believe me without the anise you do not have true biscotti.

I say you must prove this. Make a batch and send them to me. I'm offering my humble services as a taste tester. Biscotti just happens to be one of my very most favorite things in the entire universe, next to Sam Elliott, Elvis, and Oreos.

Need my address? What? What?

I don't think I've ever had homemade biscotti. I found a recipe one time, but that's as close as I came to making them. [Big Grin]

Of course, I think anything with nuts in it sounds good. I have a lady at church that bring something homemade every Sunday for the pastor's wife - me! And she's figured it out - put nuts in it and Donna's happy. Put chocolate AND nuts, and she's smacking her lips!

Let us know how it turns out!

O.k. ladies you are on my holiday list for biscotti, every year in the fall I start making biscotti and I put it in tins to send to various people for a little holliday cheer. You are both definately on my list for this year. Both send me addresses or P.O.boxes or whatever and you will get a tin. I love this tradition and have sent as many as 40 tins out each year. It is better than a holiday card, wouldn't you agree?
I know, crazy hobby... lol

I love biscotti as well....I have several recipes I like, but I am still looking for the "perfect" one. This is a painless search as even the rejects taste good with a hot cup of tea.
