I am interested in starting a new e-zine that would, hopefully, be on a paid subscription type situation, but I have no clue about how to go about doing this. There's not a lot of information about it on the internet, either. If someone can clue me in about what's involved I'd appreciate it.

Hi Kelly,
One answer to this question is time, time, time!
I think one of the first things to consider is who your target audience is going to be. Also, how often will you be publishing it? Weekly, biweekly, monthly or...?? Another thing is format. Will your e-zine be primarily on your website, or will you send out an email version? Will it be ad supported? What will you e-zine contain? How long will it be? Will you be writing all the content?
I used to publish an e-zine. I had to let it die, because I just didn't have the time to devote to it. I wrote and formatted most of the content. I was fortunate to be able to publish reprints of free articles with the permission of the authors. Then I uploaded the content to the website and also formatted it for email. I enjoyed doing it, but like I said, I just didn't have the time to continue.
I found a site that might be useful to you.
http://www.ezineuniversity.com/
It has a free e-book you can download and also articles on topics such as preparation and research, email marketing, content development and writing.
Hope this helps.
I wish you all the best.
Marie

Hi Marie,

Thanks for the info!! I'm still researching it. I don't know if I'll have the time to do it or not. I work a full time job in addition to doing other writing work. If I could get a paid subscription thing going that would be the only way I could manage. Thanks for the help. I'll let you know if I get one going.

Best, Kelly

Hi Kelly,
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I was hospitalized recently.
Please do let me know if you get a newsletter going. Stay in touch. I wish you the best,
Marie
