Seven years ago I discovered that my Dad wasn't really my Dad. I had a biological father who everyone else knew about, but not me. Thus started my adventure.

I bought Family Tree Maker and began looking for my ancestors, and what fun this has been.

Dian,

Did you find your father? My mom was divorced right before I was born. She hated my dad and never let him see me. We moved away when I was 8 years old and I had never met him. At 16 years of age, I took it upon myself to find my father. It was an experience and one that caused chaos in my family even to this day.

Just wondering if you ever found him and how it turned out?

Yes, I found my father - everyone in the family knew who he was. My mother found where he worked and called him, then I did. We see each other regularly and have established a relationship. However, his children, two oldest boys, don't want to meet me. (they are in mid to late 40's).

Sorry I didn't answer sooner. this has been a hectic week. I'm glad you and your dad met and things turned out okay. My dad and I don't keep in touch too often, maybe once a year.
