For those of you who are taking Premarin, PLEASE check with your doctor on the side effects. My 51 year old best friend suffered a fatal heart attack on Monday, although the cause has not yet been confirmed, she died in her sleep. PLEASE BE CAREFUL to read the small print and the warnings on ANY medication you take!!!!

I'm really really sorry for the loss of your friend.

But I think we may be too quick to blame hormone therapy for every kind of unhappy side effect. It may be very premature to jump to the conclusion that the heart attack was a direct result of Premarin and yet again throw another unsubstantiated horror story at women who may be looking for menopuse symptom relief. There is decent evidence that hormone therapy can be very beneficial for many women.

I am so sorry that you lost your best friend.

Raven, I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend. I went off Premarin, lost 10 lbs and feel fine. You are so right, read the small print!

I was taking premarin when my heart problems showed up. High blood pressure and smoking could also had something to contribute.
Premarin needs to be researched throughly before decided use.
So sorry for the loss of your friend.

The only meds I have in my bathroom are aspirin and Viagra.... aspirin for when he has a headache and viagra for when he doesn't.

The real irony is that my girlfriend went through 4 years of nursing school and was working in a hospital as an RN. You would think she, of all people, would have known about the dangers. What a stupid senseless loss of a wonderful person. Thanks for replying

Raven,

Forgive me for giggling about the contents of your medicine cabinet. Very cute description!

It is very sad to lose someone to something that is avoidable.

My thoughts and prayers are with you!
