Celebrating Father's Day Without Him

I wrote this in honor of my Dad and wanted to share it with all of you in case it might help those who are missing their fathers.

Very well done Robin. What great suggestions and how helpful to those who have lost their Daddy's. I know your heart was healing while you wrote this, and I know your Daddy is very proud of you. I also know that we are, too!

I'm so sorry Anne, I skipped right over Mother's Day.
And I like the way you think

Robin, your tribute to your Dad is beautiful - gave me some powerful anticipation of what to do both for Mom on Sunday and for Dad in June. Dad was famous for his BBQ hamburgers - my brothers and I have spent the past seven years since he died trying to replicate the recipe, to no avail (but we had fun trying). That will be harder to do without Gary here (he was the most ardent fan of Dad's hamburgers and it was he and he alone who decided whether each batch of my BBQ hamburgers came close to Dad's) but your tribute has inspired me to continue the tradition of having pseudo-Dad's BBQ hamburgers this year, not only in honour of Dad but in honour of Gary from now on as well.

Thank you Eagle.
I think that's a very good plan!
For me, it's going to be Kielbasa with baked beans. He once said he could live on that!

What a great way to honor a loved one. Sweet article TVC. I just celebrated Mom's Day without Mom. Dad's still living. Praise God.

How did everyone get through Mother's Day? I'm feeling guilty becasue I wasn't around to put flowers on Mom's grave. We were away for our son's college graduation. I have to put things in perspective and know that Mom certainly understands...but I am still going to get there one day this week with fresh cut flowers from our gardern.

I'm sure she understands Dotsie and if she were here would have wanted you to go.
Congratulations to the new GRAD! That is so exciting.
And thanks for reading my article.

I thought of Mom this mother's day , but mother is buried and hour away and did not get there to put flowers on her grave , but will get there this summer

Dad has been gone for 36years and it does get better , but still miss him so at times . I think sometimes they get further and further away from you when they have been gone so long . Just my therary on this .
