Hi Ladies.....just sharing that I FINALLY got a booksigning at Borders here in my town - it will be taking place next Saturday, October 7th and while the focus of this event is childrens books (two other authors will be there who write kids' material), I'm also appearing! I've been told by readers that my mystery novel is "age appropriate" for older teens, so I'm thinking that will be the essence of my talk - writing material for a WIDE variety of age groups. Also, many of you are familiar (and have attended!) with the Book 'Em event held every year in Waynesboro, Virginia. This year over 60 authors are attending and signing books/appearing on panels. This is a wonderful event which benefits the local schools/students/library and the very supportive police department. I will be there signing all three of my books (Cosmic Brownies, The Mystery of David's Bridge and Pink Jasper). More info: http://bookemfoundation.comSo, my friends, even though my chemo keeps me too tired to WRITE, it doesn't keep me so tired I can't ENJOY the "world of books" by attending some events!

Dotsie, I have seven months of treatments behind me and five more months left. Hopefully that will be the END of this whole experience!

I didn't realize that you had a book that I don't own!! And it's called Cosmic Brownies?? How did I miss that? Congratulations on the book signing, and ((HUGS)) for feeling better with the chemo.

Thanks again girlfriends.....I will take my digital camera and try to get my hubby to take a few pix. Hopefully it will be well attended - the Borders in my town is fairly new so with some luck people will be curious if nothing else!
Jackie, Cosmic Brownies is a book of poetry that I worked on last year. I had a relationship with a poetry publishing company due to having submitted some poems for an anthology they were putting together, and they wound up asking me if I'd take the project over! SO, in addition to the collection containing several of my poems (and one from Maya Angelou!), I was the official editor. My name is on the cover and I am proud of the finished product! It's available from Amazon.....it's a remarkable book.

I'm wishing you the VERY best on the book and your treatments. What a strong woman you are. An inspiration.

Well I'm HOME! For a tiny little town, I'd say the turnout was GREAT. There were five authors (three of them childrens book authors) and I particularly enjoyed chatting with all of them. I sold 20 books and left five autographed copies behind in the store.....it was a cold and rainy day here which I think brought in the crowds. Twenty books doesn't sound like much, BUT for our town, it is! I'm very happy. Thanks to all of you for your encouragement, good wishes, and helping me "keep the faith". You are all wonderful.

Thanks again girls.....I enjoyed chatting with the writers who do kids books. My book isn't a kids book - more for older teens and up - but these writers who do kids material are always so animated and upbeat - and when they do a reading there's so much "personality" in it. Lori Bakewell who also lives here in my town did a reading for the group of kids who were there and they were totally mesmerized. She did an outstanding job of keeping their interest with voice inflection, etc. It's truly an art!
