From what I've seen lately, step-parents had better grow eyes in the back of their heads. All you STEPS who are parenting, expect the unexpected. And may the Good Lord protect and keep you.

My son married a woman with two children and now they are both grown adults. They were a handful at times for my son but he was unrelenting in showing them his love and dependability no matter what they did. Now they are all so close it makes me tear up. They will come to him with their problems and their joys. I am their Gramdma and have never once regretted it. My granddaughter spoils me rotten.

Chatty, but your son set a perfect example and that makes all the difference in the world. Not everyoen has that example to live by.

I'd describe a dear friend as "A stepmother in harms way."
She was a great step; she cooked, cleaned, financially back the entire brood. Now she's penniless. Her health has faded. She's isolated from her many friends.
I'm glad some of you have had a great experience in the stepchildren area. But some folks aren't so lucky. All I'm saying is watch your back.

I've had to watch my back for 13-years now. I've become very self-protective in this area and have learned to love from a distance.

So sorry about your friend. Poor thing.

Can we pray for your friend Bonnie? I know for a fact that you get a bunch of Boomers praying and the good Lord listens.

Yes indeed...please pray, pray, pray. I've been praying for 16 months now. She was better--returned to about 90% of wellness. But she's going backwards. I can't get any calls through to her. She isn't eating. She was walking without assistance. Now she's using a walker, again. This is the most heartbreaking circumstance I've ever faced. And believe me, I've faced some beauties. I don't have PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) for nothing. But this, this takes the heart right out of me. So, yes.
Please pray!!!

I got a phone call through to my friend. She isn't feeling well again. I don't know what's going on. God is the only one who does. I keep praying He'll get in the middle of that situation and straighten it out. Please, help me pray for Almighty God to mastermind a grand turnaround; so this sweet angel can live the rest of her life in peace. Thanks!

You got it Bonnie. I've been waiting to hear how she's doing. May God comfort her and help her. Its just unbelievable that some people can be cruel to elders. I just don't get it. But it happens every day. So sad!
