I have such happy memories of the original Dick Clarks bandstand and all of the Motown Groups. Until I turned 18, I thought I was black, my heart and my soul were and still are. I can't hear Sam Cook, The Temptations, The Shirelles, Little Anthony, Little Richard, The Diamonds, Danny and The Juniors, Buddy Holly, The Dell-Vikings and so many more who dominated the 50's the Rock and Roll, Doo Wop era, without struttin my stuff. Don't forget the Platters and Jerry Butler. My record collection is in near mint condition. I have a collection of Vinyl in 45's that I saved from my teenage years. There are also the big ones, I don't know if they are 78's or what. A man I lived with for awhile years back, collected records and sold them at the indoor swap meet we have here. He has records that are still in the celophane wrapping of Elvis and Striesand. He left and never came back to get the records. I attribute the collection to him cause I don't save things much. Guess he didn't want them OR could it be that I moved? [Big Grin] Said he wanted a younger woman, I was 55 and he was 40 I think? My dating dilemma is that I am now 63 and still look 50, makes meeting the right man difficult. Anyway he went and I kept the records he said were a gift. Well, you'd keep the ring wouldn't you? This was my ring....Dotsie, if we were closer you could take whatever you wanted. These records never meant much to me, I was making a point. I do still listen to and love the 50's music. [Wink] I still do the 'stroll,'with my sons. [Razz]

vinyl, isn't that what floors are made of? And what's the deal with 45 and 78? (just joking, I'm not a boomer but I do know about records)

Dostie, as far as what generation, I am actually on the cusp of X and Y, too young for some of the 30-something (yes Xers are now in their 30s) X Generation, and too old for some of the Ys that are still in their teens. When I read about Gen X and Y I feel like I take from both and have a little bit of both attributes, so it fits that I am in the middle.
