Dotsie, just received your newsletter and was so happy to see The Helen Keller Foundation mentioned. I don't know if I mentioned that she is a relative. When my aunt recently passed, we were going through old pictures and there was a post card to one of her other relatives and it's so old, it has a biplane on it! No date tho. So, I've contacted the foundation and want to give this post card to them. It will have a new home! Thanks.

Hey, that ain't nutin....her birthplace is in my hometown! Ivy Green...uh huh...sure nuff. Okay, so that doesn't make me famous...but ah, Percy Sledge is from there too...does that count? "When a Man Loves a Woman."

I always hoped to meet her before she passed but being young, had no way of traveling on my own or finding a way to pay for travel. Bummed me out. So, do they have stuff in your home town that mentions her, etc?

Oh you can go and visit Ivy Green. Want to see the link? Go here: http://www.helenkellerbirthplace.org/ Also, they have the play, "The Miracle Worker" usually in June/July timeframe, and a Helen Keller Festival in one of those months. I'm sure it tells on the page. Sorry it took me so long to respond.
