One issue not mentioned, and a delicate one, is finding family. Some of us have children we haven't seen since birth. Others are searching for our parent(s).

I have been lucky enough to have found who I was looking for - it took 12 long years searching daily, yes daily, and a lot of money so I know the in's and outs of searching. I am writing a book about it called "A War Baby's Cry" (soon to be published, I hope)

There are "many issues" to consider when searching for a loved one. There are do's and don'ts, what if's etc. I know a few short cuts and round about ways. That first phone call...and in my case the lingering question, is he still alive?

I have various paperwork/information for every state and province in the USA and Canada.
I offer my expertise to any of you who are on our boomer site searching for a loved one(child, parent, sibling).

I won't search for you, but I will give you the information you need or answer questions you might have. Information is Power, as they say.

You are welcome to PM me and keep it confidential if you like. No, it is not going to cost anything...it is my way of giving back for having succeeded in finding my Dad.

I finished work yesterday....so I will be a regular here again. [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin]
